Scope shipped quickly. It did not have the battery pack and charger as indicated on the website. Contacted optics planet who gave me the option to return product or use a 10% off discount on future purchase coupon. I liked the scope but the non rechargeable batteries for it only lasted about an hour and a half for me (this was with frequent on/off cycling not steady runtime which would've extended life) so I tried using the discount to order the eps5 external battery; discount code was not functional but ordered anyway since price was still the same as I could find elsewhere. So kind of disappointed in opticsplanets experience but now on to the scope. I can spot chickadees and mice at 45 yards out in my lawn, I haven't done any long range spotting with the scope but can easily identify deer at 200 yards and could spot geese flying overhead at dusk. I mounted the scope on a 204 ruger and sighted it at 100 yards for now. I used a bottle with warm water hung with a string as a target. At close range - 25 yards I could actually identify the heat signature from the bullet striking my target but could not change zero quickly enough to utilize that as viable zeroing method before bullet strike heat faded. I strapped the external battery pack to the side of the buttstock of my rifle which seems to work fine so far. Took it out predator calling once but no critters showed up for my field test. Objects become very pixelated when zooming beyond 3.5-4 or so. I will likely not use the zoo... Read More...

I purchased the xq38 for my brother because he had been looking for a scope of such good quality but felt he could not afford it. He loves it, and the great thing is I can borrow it anytime! That’s sweet!

I have used this on a couple of hunts and it works great easy use and great quality would def. recommend. I use it on a 5.56 and a 300 blackout. either gun works well and attaches well. I haven't found one thing I do not like about this scope.

Wonderful clarity from an inexpensive scope. Only problem is POI of PIP and POI of DIGITAL ZOOM are different. Will probably keep scope because will usually only hunt and shoot with PIP but is irritating because at the range using the DIGITAL ZOOM you can bring targets closer to get tighter zero
