I previously ordered a Aimpoint Pro Patrol Red Dot Scope and it came with a mount but I needed a different one for my rifle. But Aimpoint offered a mount I could use and it is a Aimpoint Lever Release For Picatinny LRP base Only # 12198 and it works flawlessly. You can remove it with a quick throw of a lever. Nice job Aimpoint it replaced the mount that came with it with out any problem! I am glad this was also offered by Optics Planet. Thanks, larry
I looked at several kinds of mounts for AR picatinny rails and that research helped me choose the best option me. Optics Planet provided the best price that I could find. Pros: quality construction, ease of use Cons: none
Great Quick Detach, will not scrath rail or leave mark behind like other quick detach mounts Pros: Quick Detach, quailty design Cons: none
This base well fits my Aimpoint Comp M4S. The bulky knob of the M4S was creating me some difficulties and I️ replaced it with this lever base and I’m totally happy with it. Only the color of the lever is slightly lighter and brighter than what shows in the picture.
Pretty solid QD mount, but the reason I am giving this a 4 star it is pretty bulky, not to mention that lever should have optional colors. I rather use the old knob mount and maybe I'll check out the Midwest Industries T-1 QD Mount.
Can't stress how important it is to get the correct piece for your project. I went thru two separate orders (one with OpticsPlanet and another vendor) for the similar but still wrong mount for my Aimpoint CompM5. Once I got the correct mount, mounting the optic on the rifle was a breeze. Do your research to find the right mount before assuming and remember that all mounts are not the same. Might see some gaps after tightening the mount (with the 39mm spacer, in my case) with the optic. Having ordered a complete optic with mount and spacer prior, I noticed the same on that mount as well when comparing. Rock-solid after finding the sweet spot on the Torison Nut.
Exact fit for the Aimpoint Micro H-1. A great way to remove the scope before storing. Pros: Small, Lightweight Cons: None
I bought this to use on Ultimak rail with my AK. This provides good 1/3 lower cowitness. One thing a user must decide is what the backup strategy is. A red dot shifts the POA of the irons slightly, so one should decide if the quick release is the backup or lower cowitness. And short distance it likely will not matter much, but for longer distances the shift can be several inches.
