Assuming it is legal for your purposes, removing the filter on the objective is essential to getting the most out of this product. The good: It is a torch at full power. At the tightest focus, beam is clearly discernible out to 400Ms. Adjustable beam width gives you lots of options. At widest dispersal you have a very clean beam of illumination past 200Ms. Adjustable power is a VERY nice option. For close range work, you can bring it down to acceptable levels but easily crank it to full power as required. Nice when using it as illum or when using it for aiming. Small but powerful. This doesn't take much room but provides a lot of IR. Easily mounted in any location. Thin profile gives you options. The bad: It is not, in the strictest sense, an aiming laser. It can be narrowed to a very tight beam that can be used for aiming but think a 15 MOA dot. It says .1 degree (which would be 6 MOA) but it seems twice that size in application. The on/off switch is atrocious. You can't tell if you have turned it on or off and it is difficult to use without gloves. Once it is on, it stays on. You have to use the adjustment dial if you want positive on/off. Tail cap is next on the purchase but that is an additional 100 dollars. It does give off visible red light at highest power. Not a huge issue for most folks and it isn't much, but it is there. The unknown: I have not shot it yet, so I don't know how well it takes zero or holds it under recoil. Appears well... Read More...
