I ordered two of these knives and one of them was finished, but the other one looked as if it had not been inspected by a quality control person. Basically, the knife still had buffing compound on the bone handles and the rivets were not dressed properly. The bolsters also needed to be buffed and the Boker emblem was loose in the box as well. The most time consuming flaw to correct was the scratch in one of the blades. I don't have the know how or equipment to remove the scratch and then take the finish to the mirror like state that it has when the factory finishes the blades. Anyway, I also got two other Boker knives (different models) and they both had scratches on the blades. These knives all seem well made, but I think the quality control could be significantly improved. They arrive with the blade edge ground but it is a rather course grind. They benefit from honing. (That is common.) The knives are sturdy and look like they will provide a long service life. The factory warranty is minimal and probably not worth using unless the knife really falls apart. I suspect that Optics Planet would back the purchase better than Boker. One more issue: The handle of the knife does not look like the photo in that it is much redder. At least both of the copperheads that I received were that way. I would really prefer a more subtle treatment as is shown in the illustration.
