Troy Folding Battle Sight Rear, T6 Aircraft Aluminum - Black FBS-R0BT-00 Great rear sight. I use the standard AR front sight and the Troy Co-witnesses through my EO Tech. When folded, it fits under the magnifier perfectly. Apertures are adequate even for the old man's eyes! Bulletproof sight...as sturdy as they come. A little expensive compared to other name brand comparible sights, but still worth every penny. Pros: Bulletproof! Cons: A little expensive

Troy Folding Sights are built like a tank! Since this is installed on a work rifle that rides in a vertical mount, it's easy to bang metal clipboards and other potentially-damaging equipment into these things while it's inside the vehicle. Likewise, when my patrol rifle is out of the vehicle and actually being used for its intended purpose, the rifle and its various mounted components are subjected to lots of abuse. Although the optic that sits above this folding sight looks worse than the Troy Folding Rear Sight, the sight has also managed to take on a "broken in" appearance. I keep it in the "folded" position and just use it as a backup to supplement my optic, but it still lives a pretty rough life. The coating has scraped off of it in several places, and I noticed a small dent in the metal when I was at the range last week. I'm not sure exactly when I hit the sight against something hard enough to gouge the metal, but it didn't seem to affect the integrity of the sight. I removed the optic, did a quick 100 yard check with only the folding sights, and it was still spot on! Troy, you've got a winner with these!

Appears to be a quality sight, as does a Troy front sight I also purchased. They work and mount just as I was told they would by a representative from Troy Industries, and they co-witness well with the Vortex Sparc II.

Yes, there are mush less expensive sights on the market, but I have found over and over the old saying "you get what you pay for" rings true for almost all the options I've added to my AR15. I can directly compare my items to the items my son purchases for his Ar15. His budget is lower than mine and the cheaper items he can afford show the difference in quality of the products. His sights work but have much more slop or play in them. BUT, he bought both front and rear sights for about what I paid for just the Troy rear sight. It's a trade off. Pros: very solid, no play at all

Troy flip up battle sights are tough as nails. They hold zero and fold down to accommodate my aimpoint magnifier. The only downside is that you can't fold the sight down when you use the small peephole. Pros: sturdy, compact, and stays zeroed Cons: cannot fold down the sight when using small peephole

Troy folding battlesights are the gold standard to which all other sights are compared. They are costly, but well worth every penny, in terms of their durability and build quality. I was not a fan of peep sights until mounting these. The only thing I dislike about them is that they are hard to adjust for windage. It is not tool-less as suggested by the description; you need a dime or screwdriver, or alternatively, a small allen wrench or punch, to adjust them. The tip of a bullet isn't quite pointed enough to work. It doesn't mention this in the description, but the sight is same-plane for both apertures - i.e. if you are zero'ed with the small one, you retain that zero with the large one. The sights lock firmly into place in the up position, and you must press hard on the release button to unlock and lower them. They must be manually raised (no spring assist), but can be raised instantly from the folded position (no need to press the button). Pros: Extremely rugged, holds zero, very compact when folded Cons: Hard to adjust windage, can't fold down when using small peep

Bought the Troy sight because it is supposed to be the best. Can only compare the the Magpul Pro folding Buis. I like the locking button on the Troy sight. Gives a little more confidence when upright. Has a little play or looseness when upright but nothing that would cause an issue. The Magpul fits the back of the receiver better. The Troy does not contour to the back of the rail as well as the Magpul does. May have issues with operating the charging handle unless you have an oversize handle. Another small gripe is the lack of loctite on the threads of the Troy sight. The Magpul has loctite pre applied to the threads. Last issue is if you use the smaller peep sight on the Troy, it can not be folded down. It has to be changed to the larger circle in order to fold down. I'm using the Troy as a back up to my EOTech so it is folded 99% of the time but I prefer the smaller peep sight. I have to change it every time. The Magpul Pro will fold with the sight in either setting. Kinda expected more for the name and money. The Magpul is better all around in my opinion.

Nice color, easy to adjust and operate. It serves its purpose well. Low enough to clear aimpoint magnifier w/twist mount when folded. I use it for buis for my Eotech exps3-0. This is an excellent product and optics planet provided a decent price.

This sight is great. Troy rear folding sight is tops, alot of other rear sights fall short. Troy's sight folds down flat and flush, its so easy to sight in and built tougher than metal. Deployment is fast and easy and rock solid. This sight co witnesses perfect with front sight post.

Great. Works as advertised. Quick shipping. Aligns with a standard front sight and moves well. Precision machining and quality you expect from Troy. Highly recommended you get one of the bad boys as a back up sight for an optic you're running.

I have more than a few of these on AR's. Low profile enough when folded that it does not interfere with some large eyepieces of scopes mounted on AD-RECON, 30mm. I also like the same plane apertures. Locks into place when deployed, must push button to fold. Windage adjustment knob would be hard to knock out of zero. Not as bullet proof as an A1 sight adjustment, but a stiff and low profile knob. Good quality, works as intended.

Really good quality. Impressed with how it's held up so far. I like that it's not spring loaded which makes it more reliable. Always happy with Troy products. And this one has not disappointed. Would recommend.

Bought these to replace some A.R.M.S plastic flip up sights on my AR. The dual apertures help transition from short to long range. It is high enough to co-view through an EOtech optic and folds down to get out of the way. All around a great product. Pros: Dual Apertures, Lightweight, Sturdy Cons: None

These sights are super heavy duty sights and always keep zero not like the other brands that they make so cheap and cannot keep zero when training. These sights are worth the money and time so don't waste your time buying cheapo sights.

Very well built sight. It's not made of plastic but aluminum and very sturdy. High quality in manufacturing. I would recommend anything made by troy. For being after-market sights these are the way to go. You might pay alittle more, but it's worth it.

These are my go to back up rear iron sights. No fancy springs to get dirty and fail etc. Just durable robust manually operated solid iron sights. When it is up it is solid! I run these flip up rears with DD/A2/SLR etc.. some type of fixed fronts. That is my preference.

I replaced a Magpul BUIS with this Troy BUIS. Arguably, I went from the cheesiest to the finest BUIS available. This sight is simple, easy to install, takes up very little space on your rail and easily disappears beneath primary optics. One of the reasons I choose this sight is that while I run a primary sight, I really appreciate shooting with iron sights and wanted a set that would be reliable, accurate, and tough. These sights fit the bill

The locking detent is very positive so you know they are locked in place. The dual appature is perfect for precision work or high speed hosing.

There's no question about the quality of build you're going to get when you buy something from Troy, and their Battle Sights are no exception. These sights are tight all the way around. Positive locking in the up position ensures that once the sight is deployed, it's not going to go anywhere. I'm currently using this sight as my primary until I put an optic on this rifle. I intend to put a 1-4x with a quick detach mount and I expect the combination of good glass and a good back up iron to be a winner. Excellent work on this one, Troy!

I've tried and reviewed so many other iron type sights, and the TROY came out on top. One manufacturer came out close but DID NOT pay friendly with aftermarket parts (read on about the Blitzkrieg Components Tritium Front Sight post) I'm glad these Troys fold because that gives the rifle an overall slimmer profile when I store it or take it to the range. I ultimately installed them on my AR-15, front and back, for a no-nonsense, rifle that I can count on. If you buy these sights, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you spend a few extra bucks more and get the aftermarket BLITZKRIEG COMPONENTS CHEVRON FRONT SIGHT POST with LUMINESCENT TRITIUM/GLOWING CHEVRON. The Blitzkrieg Components post will fit right in place of Troy's stock post. Blitzkrieg even provides you with a nice tool for switching the posts. You don't have to charge the front post with your flashlight because the tritium provides you with a bright little dot to center your aim. However, if you do charge the front post with your flashlight, you will get a bright glowing chevron that will last more than seven minutes. Incidentally, I like these Troys so much I bought a second set, with the 45-degree offset, for my AR-308 which carries the wonderful Steiner's M5Xi scope. With both the M5Xi scope and the 45-degree Troy sights, my AR-308 is good for well beyond 100 yards AND close-up shots. With exception to the particular model of the Blitzkrieg tritium/glowing front post, I purchased all the above at Optics P... Read More...

I realized, even though I purchased this some time ago, I had not reviewed this yet. I had another set of Troys on another rifle, and dug the heck out of them. Sometime ago, I decided to pick up a M&P Sport II to add to the collection, and it came with the Magpul polymer rear flip up. Nothing wrong with the sight, it worked fine and I love Magpul gear. But one thing always bugged me: when you flip up that sight, you get the peep hole, not the ghost ring first. In my mind, the ghost ring should be presented FIRST, and if you time for a longer shot, bring up the peep sight (which is still kind of hard to get at with your thumbnail). On the Troy, it's a matter of justing flipping the sight to whatever position you need. Excellent rugged sights.

These have pretty much become the gold standard for ruggedness and reliability, I run them on all of my AR platform rifles. There are plastic/nylon versions out there that are OK but the weight difference is negligible, and the Troy sights are much more durable. As always, a quality product from Troy!

I have used Troy BUIS on all my builds. These are rugged, well, designed and hold zero even after a thousand plus rounds, rough handling and the rifle being transported in the trunk of my car. Correct height for absolute co-witness. The finish is beautiful. Also, did I mention that they are made in the USA?

I'm using this sight on a Colt, it is solid, has a good sight picture and will co-witness with my optic. The sight folds and locks positively, the adjustments are positive and secure, no wobble that I can detect. I suppose the best thing I can say about it is that I will buy another. My military days are long since past so I don't beat the tar out of things like I used to but I expect this sight would have done the job. It is perfect for a range, ranch gun that spends time bouncing around in a dusty truck. Good kit near as I can see.

I purchased this rear iron sight for my first ar-15. I was impressed with the look and feel, and they mounted solid as well. The rear was eventually paired with a front when I was able to install a free foat tube. The folding mechanism and mount feel rock solid, and I keep mine in the up position. I am more accurate with the irons than with my aimpoint, but the aimpoint is definitely faster. I would not hesitate to buy this product again if I ever had the need. As always, optics planet is a great company to do business with.

These are the best sights I have used to date. I have used a few others brands but these are the toughest and most user friendly. The have the best sight picture of any BUIS I have tried. If I build an AR with a great optic I can sometimes put a cheaper set on the gun (just as back-up) but These Troys are the ones I use on anything with an optic of lesser than Aim Point quality.

Well made and durable. Two things take away from giving this 5 stars. The first is that deploying the sights requires you to grab the sights and manually flip them up, whereas a MBUIS have a button you depress and they automatically pop up. This could be problematic in the event you needed them in a combat situation would be my guess. Also, to put them back down, you have to depress the button on the side, which doing one handed isn't as easy as it could be with a different design. The second reason is that after spending money on a set of sights, it didn't even come with the adjustment tool. I figured my MBUIS one would work on my front sight at the range and was disappointed to discover that it's too wide to fit in the aperture. They want to sell you the tool instead. Either make it universal or include the tool at the price point. Otherwise, good enough quality, I won't complain.

I had one of these for my carbine AR so I ordered this and the fixed Troy M4 front sight for a 10.3 build. They came out of the box with a 25 foot zero. Which didn't really work for me, sighted them in at 15 yards in a low light indoor environment and was satisfied with the results. This rear sight deserves its reputation as a high-quality, built-like-a-tank piece of equipment. It's easy to install, and it feels very well-made. Tight, quality milled connections & everything functions like it needs to. If I have a critique, it's minor-- just that I wish it were a tad easier to fold it back down once it's up. Takes a bit of a push, though I'm guessing it'll get quicker as I use it more often (and for the most part it's the engaging of it that needs to be quick and easy-- which it is). I'd buy another for another gun.
